Students in our plant biology program primarily concentrate on research spanning plant physiology, ecology, evolutionary studies, systematics, and molecular biology. The curriculum includes instruction in teaching methods and grant proposal development. Additional professional growth opportunities consist of weekly discussion groups, ecology lunch seminars, an annual graduate research symposium, and regular academic presentations. The Biological Sciences graduate program provides exceptional education for those pursuing M.S. or Ph.D. degrees in biology or plant biology, including a non-thesis master's option. Currently, around 75 graduate students work under the guidance of our faculty. Graduate education is a top priority for our Biological Sciences faculty. Prospective students are encouraged to reach out to specific faculty members or the graduate program coordinator. Further details can be found in our Graduate Student Handbook.
