Faculty research spans three interconnected domains: Sustainable Energy Systems, Biomolecular Engineering, and Biomechanics. Key projects within these fields explore: catalysis and kinetics in chemical and biological systems, fuel cell technologies, biofilm development, innovative sensor designs, molecular engineering for cardiac and reproductive systems, and mechanics at molecular, cellular, and musculoskeletal levels. The department features specialized analytical tools including operando XPS, XRD, and Raman systems with custom reactors for surface reaction studies. Additional capabilities include circular dichroism spectroscopy for biological research, atomic force microscopy, confocal microscopy, advanced microelectrode fabrication, and various custom reactor setups with sophisticated chemical analysis instrumentation.
