The Master of Science in Translational Biotechnology combines scientific education with business and regulatory training, equipping graduates to bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and clinical applications.
Our adaptable curriculum caters to diverse student backgrounds. Research-oriented students with scientific training can collaborate with renowned faculty at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM) to develop and defend a thesis worthy of publication. Those without a science background can work with industry specialists on biomanufacturing and regulatory affairs through a comprehensive Capstone Project.
This flexible MS program accommodates both full-time and part-time students, welcoming applicants from scientific and non-scientific fields alike. Students can choose between two specialized tracks: Research (on-campus) or Business (online).
Graduates emerge prepared for diverse STEM careers, armed with cutting-edge skills in market analysis, project leadership, product innovation, and financial management - competencies often missing from traditional STEM programs. You'll gain specialized knowledge in biomanufacturing processes, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and therapeutic scale-up, making you valuable to both biotechnology firms and academic institutions engaged in industry partnerships.
