The Classics Department aims to provide an enriching educational experience for both majors/minors and students taking individual courses. Our primary focus is teaching ancient Greek and Latin languages along with their literary works. Additionally, we explore wider cultural topics through both instruction and research. We strive to comprehensively understand Greek and Roman civilizations while examining their complex legacy in contemporary society.
Classics primarily involves investigating Greek and Latin languages, their literature, and ancient Mediterranean cultures. Pursuing Classics delivers a broad liberal arts foundation, serving as exceptional preparation for diverse careers, advanced studies, or personal intellectual growth.

Qualification Requirements
Certified transcripts are required from each secondary school, college or university attended. A record of at least four years of schooling is needed in order to evaluate the application. Detailed information concerning courses taken and grades received must be listed on these records. If necessary, transcripts should be translated into English with the originals sealed and attached.
All international students whose first language is not English are required to submit a TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo score. We accept self-reported test scores.
