The Harry Lynde Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering provides advanced degree options including Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), Master of Science (M.S.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs in both electrical and computer engineering. These M.S. and Ph.D. programs are available at the Blacksburg campus as well as through extended campus partnerships (National Capital Region, Northern Virginia Center, Falls Church, Virginia, Central, Hampton Roads, Western, and VT-MENA via Alexandria and Cairo, Egypt). The M.Eng. program operates at the National Capital Region (NCR) and through Virtual campuses. Students can pursue either an M.S. Thesis or M.S. Non-Thesis track. The M.S. Thesis option involves creating a personalized study plan with faculty guidance to meet degree requirements, culminating in a thesis defense. The M.S. Non-Thesis path focuses on coursework. The M.Eng. program emphasizes professional development, combining core ECE technical training with a hands-on, project-focused capstone experience.
