The DAAS program delivers a diverse range of practical statistical techniques to learners, focusing less on mathematically intensive statistical theory. The M.A. DAAS core curriculum covers essential statistical foundations. Participants can then select from specialized statistical electives. This structure ensures comprehensive exposure to modern applied statistical approaches while demonstrating their real-world applications across disciplines. At Virginia Tech's Blacksburg location, the M.A. DAAS operates as a dual degree option. Existing Virginia Tech graduate students in other fields who wish to enhance their skills with the M.A. DAAS qualification may apply. The program's practical statistics focus enables students to conduct more advanced statistical research, enhancing their thesis/dissertation quality and increasing opportunities for publication in top-tier journals.
