To earn a Ph.D., candidates must demonstrate extensive understanding across diverse areas of computer science while making original research contributions through their dissertation. Doctoral students are required to complete 90 graduate credits, including at least 27 from graded coursework, maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher. Typically, the program takes approximately five years for students entering with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines, or about four years for those holding a relevant master's degree.
