The School of Business provides an organized graduate curriculum that blends academic learning with practical industry exposure. Within the sports leadership track, participants gain the expertise needed to guide both professional and amateur athletes while overseeing sports initiatives across educational, governmental, and corporate environments. Our diverse faculty and course offerings allow learners to focus on specialized domains crucial to sports business success. Sport industry expertise: Graduates will possess the analytical capabilities to evaluate information and create strategic solutions for sports leadership challenges.
Professional communication and conduct: Participants will exhibit appropriate interpersonal abilities and professional demeanor for careers in sports administration and coaching.
Leadership cultivation: Students will acquire comprehensive understanding of leadership principles and demonstrate their practical application in professional sports environments.
In addition to the general admission requirements of the VCU Graduate School, the following requirements represent the minimum acceptable standards for admission:
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline
Three letters of recommendation addressing the student’s potential for graduate study in education
Student’s written statement concerning career interests
Transcripts of all previous college work
