The accelerated Bachelor's to Master's program enables high-achieving students to obtain both their B.S. and M.A. in economics within five years by taking approved graduate-level courses during their final undergraduate year. Participants can apply up to 12 credit hours of 600-level graduate coursework toward both degrees, reducing the total credit requirement to 138 instead of the standard 150 credits needed for separate degree completion. Graduates with these combined qualifications gain significant advantages in data-intensive roles, as the M.A. curriculum emphasizes advanced data skills through mathematical economics and three specialized econometrics courses. Notably, two of these econometrics courses involve hands-on data collection, analysis, and reporting - precisely the type of practical expertise employers actively seek.
