The Department of Spanish and Portuguese provides undergraduate degree options in Spanish as well as combined Spanish and Portuguese programs. Students can also pursue an interdisciplinary major combining Spanish with European studies.
Spanish stands among Vanderbilt's most sought-after majors. With one of the broadest undergraduate course selections in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies available in North America, Vanderbilt students actively engage with these comprehensive academic opportunities. Many department students choose to pair their language and cultural studies with a second major, blending their passion for Spanish or Portuguese with other academic disciplines.
All candidates for admission must present transcripts of work completed in high school.
