The WARE initiative is an interdisciplinary Master's degree program. Participants in this program engage in advanced studies across various departments at the University of Wyoming. WARE offers a dual-degree structure that promotes exploration of interdisciplinary academic paths alongside Master's research projects.

The program's educational foundation encompasses these key elements:

This initiative aims to cultivate multidisciplinary learning and viewpoints concerning water resources.
The training maintains the high standards required for water resource professionals.
The interdisciplinary curriculum adapts to align with students' unique career aspirations.
The primary responsibility for student mentorship and program development lies with the sponsoring department and faculty advisor. After admission to their primary department, students assemble a graduate committee that must include at least one Hydrologic Science Program faculty member. This faculty representative assists in shaping the course curriculum, establishing academic benchmarks, and defining research goals throughout the student's participation in the program.
