The University of Wyoming's COJO Graduate Program transforms motivated students into well-informed, critically-minded communication professionals through rigorous academic training. This advanced degree equips graduates for diverse career paths including doctoral studies, higher education instruction, nonprofit leadership, or corporate communication roles.
The communication and media master's program explores rhetorical analysis, cultural criticism, and social science research methods. Participants may elect either a conventional research thesis or a practical project-based thesis (Plan B option).
Those selecting the research thesis path must complete 27 credit hours plus 4 thesis credits, with at least 25 hours from COJO department offerings. The program allows up to 6 independent study credits, 3 internship credits, and 3 credits from 4000-level courses.
