The Department of Atmospheric Science provides graduate programs for both Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. These programs combine academic coursework with hands-on research components. Students complete foundational courses along with electives selected from our department's offerings and other relevant disciplines. Every student's academic plan is customized to align with their unique goals and academic focus.
For the research component, students must engage in projects that culminate in a thesis (M.S.) or dissertation (Ph.D.), which they must defend. Each student collaborates closely with a faculty advisor across various departmental research specialties.
