The Department of Geography collaborates with the interdisciplinary Earth System Science (ESS) program, allowing students to combine Geography and ESS coursework for a BS degree in Earth System Science with a Geography focus. For more than five decades, the Geography Program has served as a cross-disciplinary hub for exploring global human-environment relationships. Geography students examine Earth's socio-political, cultural, and physical landscapes and their interconnections, developing transdisciplinary problem-solving skills essential for our complex, interconnected world. At the University of Wyoming, the Geography Program unites faculty from various disciplines to educate students about: Earth's major challenges from both physical and human perspectives, Complementary methodologies from physical and social sciences, The significance of spatial relationships across different scales, and Critical analysis of links between Earth's physical systems and cultural, economic, and political frameworks.
