The Astronomy & Astrophysics Bachelor of Science program equips students for advanced studies or professional opportunities in astronomy, astrophysics, or similar disciplines.
Course schedules might require adjustments if ACT, SAT, or Math Placement results necessitate pre-college coursework before enrolling in mandatory math or English classes. Certain courses aren't available each semester, and some electives may have prerequisites. Learners should examine course details in the University Catalog and seek guidance from their academic advisor for proper planning.
A minimum 2.0 overall GPA is required for graduation. The program mandates completion of 42 upper-division credit hours (3000-level or higher), with at least 30 credits earned at the University of Wyoming. Letter grades are required unless courses are exclusively offered as S/U. University Studies Program (USP) requirements for Human Culture (H) and Physical & Natural World (PN) must be fulfilled outside the major, though cross-listed courses are permitted.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy oversees the administration of this Bachelor of Science degree in astronomy and astrophysics.
