Animal and veterinary science is a practical degree program where you'll explore topics connected to livestock production and animal care. You'll delve into areas ranging from animal biology and dietary needs to business strategies, food processing, biochemistry, and microscopic organisms, allowing you to tailor your education to your professional goals.
While you'll master essential scientific principles for your career, you'll also gain hands-on experience - whether it's examining a cow with a fistula, working directly with farm animals, or researching illnesses impacting Wyoming's domestic and wild animals.
The Animal and Veterinary Sciences (ANVS) program is a collaborative effort between the Animal Science Department and Veterinary Sciences Department. Professors from both departments bring specialized knowledge across eight focus areas.
