The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design is a selective professional degree program available to exceptional students through an application process, preparing them for advanced design education and careers in the field.
This program covers a wide range of visual communication design subjects addressing different messages and target audiences. Aspiring designers focusing on areas like graphic design, motion graphics, animation, digital media, and related fields can apply for this BFA program. To complete the BFA in Visual Communication Design within four years, students should finish their Foundation Core during freshman year and progress to Studio Core classes in their sophomore year. Unlike other degrees, this professional program doesn't require Arts & Sciences credits outside the major.
All department-required courses must be completed with a grade of C or higher, and major courses must be taken for letter grades. To graduate with a BFA in Visual Communication Design from the Department of Visual and Literary Arts, students must maintain a minimum 3.00 overall university GPA and a 3.25 GPA in all major courses at graduation.
