This program leads to initial teaching certification, granting graduates a Bachelor's Degree in Earth Science Education along with a concurrent Geology major. It equips students to teach Earth Science for middle and high school levels (grades 6-12).
The dual major enhances graduates' teaching qualifications and broadens career opportunities.
While UW bachelor's degrees require at least 120 credit hours, specific requirements vary by program and major. Students must earn a C or higher in all major courses and maintain a 2.75 GPA in content-area classes. At least 42 credits must be upper-division coursework.
Before beginning field experiences, students must complete an initial background check. The College of Education covers this cost through student fees - consult your advisor for specific instructions.
