This program is tailored for current music educators seeking to enhance their expertise in music and teaching methods. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in music education and have at least two years of classroom teaching experience. The curriculum aims to deepen pedagogical knowledge across all music education disciplines (general, choral, or instrumental), reinforce teaching philosophies, highlight potential school-based research projects, and offer advanced study options in performance, conducting, music theory, and history.
Although GRE scores aren't mandatory for admission, prospective students should complete these exams early in their graduate studies if they intend to apply for UWM's Distinguished Graduate Student Fellowship or pursue further education after earning their master's degree at UWM.
