Working alongside various academic departments at UW-Milwaukee, SOIS provides students with the chance to pursue dual Master's degrees simultaneously—one in Library and Information Science (MLIS) and another in a specialized field. The History Department delivers graduate programs designed to equip students for professional roles in education, historical investigation, and work with archives, historical organizations, museums, libraries, and government entities. Program alumni meet the requirements for archivist roles and staff positions across libraries, museums, higher education institutions, government bodies, and corporate settings. For professionals seeking careers outside traditional archives within these organizations, expertise in archival storage, categorization, and retrieval systems represents a highly marketable skillset that strengthens an information specialist's credentials.
