The Community-Based Organizations submajor within the Community Engagement and Education (CEED) Program caters to students currently employed in or aspiring to join community-focused organizations addressing diverse societal challenges. Through specialized coursework, you'll gain skills for organizational leadership, financial management, fundraising, and other relevant competencies. This unique BS program stands as Wisconsin's sole degree concentration dedicated to community-based organizations. The curriculum blends organizational studies with CEED classes covering social movement strategies, neighborhood development, and similar subjects. CEED BS courses are available through various formats - daytime classes, online options, evening sessions, and weekend offerings. Additionally, we recognize and award credit for relevant professional background. Alumni of this submajor pursue careers as youth program directors, nonprofit administrators, grassroots activists, and public office holders at municipal and state levels.
