Our program explores the diverse cultural heritage of textiles, modern fiber artists, and the fusion of classic methods with digital tools. Learners will cultivate knowledge and admiration for fibers and their visual expression, mastering both time-honored practices and innovative uses. Fiber arts encompass a wide-ranging discipline employing techniques such as surface design (including direct/resist dyeing, hand/screen printing), weaving, fabric construction, quilting, embroidery, wearable creations, basket-making, sculptural forms, felting, beadwork, and installations—using both natural and synthetic materials. We promote interdisciplinary collaboration across artistic fields as students refine their personal creative vision, grounded in fibers' rich history and material properties. This curriculum equips students to become imaginative creators and analytical problem-solvers. Mirroring the medium's versatility, career opportunities in this field are equally expansive.
