The Stahl Center provides educational programs and community events focused on Jewish Studies for both UWM students and Milwaukee residents. Our curriculum spans from ancient biblical times to contemporary topics, incorporating diverse academic fields such as history, literature, theater, film studies, cultural studies, Hebrew language, and religious studies. Students can pursue either a major or minor in Jewish Studies at UWM. The Center's founding was made possible through generous contributions from the Helen Bader Foundation, the Wisconsin Society for Jewish Learning, and the Andrew Scher Fund, with matching funds from UWM. Thanks to a significant donation from the Baye Foundation, the Stahl Center now occupies its stunning new home in the renovated Greene Museum, located on the eastern edge of campus. This historic building serves as the hub for Jewish Studies faculty and staff, featuring adaptable spaces for gatherings, workshops, student activities, and community programs.
