The Department of Population Health Sciences, within the School of Medicine and Public Health, aims to pioneer advancements in the evolving, interdisciplinary domain of population health. Its core objective involves generating, combining, sharing, and implementing knowledge to optimize resource utilization for enhancing community health outcomes equitably and efficiently. The research-focused academic programs offer comprehensive, cross-disciplinary education to equip students with the expertise required to tackle contemporary health challenges. Training in analytical and methodological approaches builds upon foundations in biostatistics, epidemiology, and health services research, while incorporating techniques from social sciences and econometrics relevant to population health studies. Although structured around fundamental coursework, the program allows students, guided by their primary advisor, to tailor advanced studies and research projects aligning with their specific professional aspirations.
International applicants must have a degree comparable to a regionally accredited U.S. bachelor’s degree.
