Founded in 1971, the Neuroscience Training Program (NTP) now includes over 80 faculty members conducting research across various fields, from molecular neurobiology to integrated systems. This program equips students for careers in both research and academia, typically enrolling around 55 students at any given time. It's ideal for self-motivated individuals who want active involvement in shaping their graduate studies. Participants can earn either a PhD in neuroscience or an MD/PhD through collaboration with the School of Medicine and Public Health.
Every graduate student in the program follows a customized doctoral curriculum. A faculty advisory committee, chosen by the student with guidance from their primary advisor, oversees each individual's academic journey. The first year of study involves completing three laboratory rotations.
International applicants must have a degree comparable to a regionally accredited U.S. bachelor’s degree.
