The environmental chemistry and technology section utilizes administrative, teaching, and research facilities within the Water Science and Engineering Laboratory. Specialized research spaces, featuring trace element and mercury clean rooms, support studies in aquatic chemistry, atmospheric pollution chemistry, and environmental engineering. On-site workshops (electronics and mechanical) enable custom equipment fabrication for both field and lab research requirements. Additional specialized areas focus on atmospheric pollution studies, ceramic membrane applications, hazardous waste treatment, and energy storage system development.

Qualification Requirements

A bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program or from a recognized international institution is recommended.

A minimum undergraduate grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) on the equivalent of the last 60 semester hours (approximately two years of work) or a master's degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 is required. Applicants from an international institution must demonstrate strong academic achievement comparable to a 3.00 for an undergraduate or master's degree.
