The classical humanities program blends two terms of language instruction with diverse elective classes examining the literature, societies, and traditions of ancient Greece, Rome, and the Near East. Learners can select from numerous course options, ranging from CLASSICS 150 Mythical Creatures of Greece and Rome to CLASSICS 308 Intimacy and Conflict in Early Civilizations. The curriculum also encompasses studies in art, architectural design, archaeological methods, gender theory, historical analysis, literary works, philosophical thought, and political systems. Beyond strengthening linguistic skills, these disciplines help students cultivate a deeper appreciation of antiquity.

Courses in Latin and ancient Greek are consistently available, serving as the roots of contemporary English and offering perspective on the evolution of modern terminology. With intimate class settings, students benefit from personalized attention and achieve more impactful educational results.
