The Creative Writing Undergraduate Program offers diverse opportunities for students to explore, compose, and analyze poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and playwriting. Alongside various creative writing classes, the program features an English Major with a Creative Writing focus, a vibrant schedule of literary events, guest appearances by renowned writers, chances to contribute to The Madison Review, and multiple writing contests. Undergraduate workshops typically consist of 12-17 students. In these workshop-style classes, participants examine published works from a craft perspective while creating their own poetry and prose, frequently through guided writing prompts.
