The Master of Science in Biology Program offers a diverse curriculum, enabling students to pursue specialized studies across both conventional and innovative biological fields. Participants can opt for a customizable general M.S. in biology or select from focused concentrations including aquatic science, cellular and molecular biology, nurse anesthesia, environmental science, or physiology.
Program admission considers factors such as undergraduate GPA, recommendation letters, and completion of prerequisite coursework tailored to each concentration. Upon acceptance, students select a primary advisor and committee during their initial semester to help develop a personalized study plan guiding their academic journey.
Every candidate fulfills a culminating experience requirement. While most concentrations and the general track involve completing a thesis or seminar paper, the nurse anesthesia specialization substitutes this with intensive clinical training through Mayo Clinic Health System - Franciscan Healthcare, often leading to further graduate studies at Viterbo University.
