The UW-La Crosse Finance Program delivers a balanced combination of academic theory and hands-on learning. Learners experience diverse instructional approaches including classroom lectures, collaborative discussions, case study evaluations, and self-directed research. The curriculum establishes core competencies in key financial domains: business finance, asset management, and banking systems. Participants can then choose to deepen their expertise in these fundamental subjects or expand into specialized fields like global finance, property investment, wealth management, or insurance services. For students focused on this sector, the program additionally provides a finance major concentration in risk assessment, insurance, and financial strategy.
The Spellman Fund, an investment portfolio managed by students, allows participants to make actual investments in securities they analyze and recommend.
