UW-La Crosse offers extensive research collaborations with faculty in a department renowned across the state for teaching excellence. The UWL Biology Department provides programs for both undergraduate and graduate students in biological sciences, featuring cutting-edge equipment and facilities for coursework and investigations. Students can engage in research across numerous biological fields, with many undergraduates conducting independent studies under faculty guidance. Academic courses and research projects utilize our local natural resources, including the Mississippi River and La Crosse River Marsh.
Biology examines all life forms, from tiny microbes and viruses to plants and animals. UWL's biology curriculum encompasses diverse specialties ranging from molecular studies to ecosystem research. The sample academic pathways shown here are designed for incoming first-year students starting in fall. Learners should consult their WINGS Advisement Report (AR) while collaborating closely with faculty advisors and the dean's office to fulfill all degree requirements efficiently.
Applicant must have completion of secondary or post-secondary from institution.
English Language Proficiency
Applicant must have TOEFL score of 73 with IELTS score of 6.0 and PTE score of 54. In addition completion of ELS level 112 and completion of WESLI level 700 is required.
Priority application deadlines are 15 December for the January/Spring semester and 15 July for the September/Fall semester.
