Toxicology is dedicated to advancing methods for detecting and mitigating the adverse impacts of chemical, physical, and biological substances across all biological scales, from molecular interactions to human populations and entire ecosystems. This Master of Science program in Environmental or Applied Toxicology equips students with the skills to recognize, assess, and evaluate toxic substances and their consequences for both human well-being and ecological systems. The program incorporates studies in essential disciplines like biostatistics and epidemiology, alongside core subjects in exposure science and environmental health. Specialized coursework offers advanced instruction in risk evaluation and toxicology principles, covering topics such as organ-specific toxicity and the mechanisms behind diverse toxic substances. Qualification Requirements

Hold the minimum equivalent of a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S. or its equivalent from an accredited foreign institution or a Bologna bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 180 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits.

Grade point average (GPA)

The UW Graduate School requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last two years (90 credits) of study.

English Proficiency:

The Graduate School is temporarily accepting official test scores for both the Duolingo English Test and the TOEFL ITP Plus For China to assist international students with remote testing options. This policy is currently in effect through the autumn 2021 admission cycle (i.e., students enrolling in autumn 2021).
