The Master of Public Health (MPH) program equips students with comprehensive academic training, hands-on experience, and interdisciplinary coursework to tackle contemporary public health issues. Starting in the 2020-2021 academic year, the MPH curriculum features six foundational courses completed collectively by all first-year students. Additionally, learners will take specialized courses aligned with their chosen concentration. The core curriculum emphasizes ethical considerations, health equity, global and community perspectives, effective communication, systems analysis, leadership development, and translating research into practice.
The Maternal and Child Health (MCH) concentration offers specialized training in epidemiology, preparing graduates to enhance healthcare outcomes for women, children, and families across the U.S. Students can specialize in areas like reproductive health (including pregnancy outcomes and STIs), pediatric care for vulnerable populations, or youth with chronic conditions such as asthma and developmental disorders. This track develops competencies for careers in public health research, data interpretation, and health communication.
