The Master of Public Health (MPH) program equips students with comprehensive academic training, hands-on experience, and interdisciplinary coursework to tackle contemporary public health issues. Starting in the 2020-2021 academic year, the MPH curriculum will feature six foundational courses completed collectively by all first-year students. Additionally, learners will take specialized courses aligned with their chosen concentration. The core curriculum emphasizes ethical considerations, health equity, global and community perspectives, effective communication, systems analysis, leadership development, and translating research into practice.
Within the Department of Epidemiology, students can pursue an International Health Track tailored for careers addressing health challenges in developing nations. This concentration includes disease causation research and program assessment. Unlike other Global Health MPH programs, this track specifically emphasizes epidemiological methodologies, statistical evaluation, health determinants, disease origins, while also providing instruction in policy analysis and program design.
