Our graduate program follows a mentorship model. Each student works closely with one or more faculty members whose research aligns with their academic interests. Applicants should identify potential faculty mentors during the admissions process. The department organizes its research into seven distinct specializations, and applicants must apply directly to their chosen area rather than the general department. Together with their mentors and other faculty in their specialization, students design a customized curriculum that supports their professional aspirations. Psychology is an ever-evolving discipline. By examining human and animal behavior, our field bridges biological and social sciences. Continuous discoveries reshape our approaches to theory, practice, and methodology. For intellectually curious, innovative, and motivated individuals, this is an exceptional time to pursue graduate studies in psychology.
The Social and Personality training program equips students with essential competencies to: (1) formulate significant, researchable questions, (2) develop appropriate study designs and methodologies, (3) build upon existing scholarship to advance knowledge, and (4) effectively disseminate findings to benefit both academic circles and society at large.
