The Chemistry Department takes great pride in being the top undergraduate producer of chemists and biochemists nationwide, while also serving as a premier hub for advanced graduate studies and innovative research. Our department boasts 40 distinguished faculty members with national and international reputations, mentoring 200 graduate students and 50 postdoctoral researchers, all supported by a dedicated team of 65 staff. We offer an exceptional and nurturing environment for graduate studies, where our renowned faculty lead dynamic research initiatives spanning traditional chemistry disciplines (analytical, inorganic, organic, physical) as well as interdisciplinary fields including nanoscience, materials science, polymer chemistry, chemical biology, synthesis and catalysis, theoretical and computational chemistry, and chemical physics. Our chemistry degree programs equip graduates for careers in industrial labs, research institutions, government agencies, or academic roles involving teaching, research, and administration.
