Our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program features a Nurse-Midwifery (NM) specialization, equipping nurses to serve as primary healthcare providers for women across all life stages. As a nurse-midwife, you'll work in varied clinical environments while delivering comprehensive women's health services. Beyond attending births, nurse-midwives provide complete gynecological and preventive care. This encompasses everything from regular checkups to prenatal and postnatal guidance, as well as care during and after menopause. For over 20 years, the UW School of Nursing has trained nurse-midwives. Through partnerships with numerous regional clinical sites, our students gain exposure to diverse patient populations.
