The Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGNP-AC) concentration in our Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program equips you to provide specialized care for adolescent, adult, and elderly patients. This track focuses on managing complex acute conditions, critical illnesses, chronic diseases, and injuries affecting patients throughout their lives. As an AGNP-AC, you'll develop expertise in treating patients requiring intensive nursing and medical interventions. Through collaborative relationships with patients and families, you'll educate them on disease management strategies and preventive care. Graduates of this program gain the skills to: Conduct thorough health evaluations, including ordering and analyzing diagnostic tests, Formulate differential diagnoses for acute and complex medical conditions, Collaborate with patients and families on wellness promotion and treatment plans, Prescribe and assess both pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, Apply patient-centered approaches considering developmental stages, Champion the nursing profession and the vital role of AGACNPs.

Qualification Requirements

An in-process or earned bachelor’s or master’s degree from a CCNE or NLN-accredited school (you must complete the degree before enrolling); completion of a basic descriptive and inferential statistics course within five years of entering the program.
