Our Bachelor of Science in Physics program ranks among the nation's most extensive, granting approximately 175 undergraduate degrees each year. Graduates with physics degrees pursue diverse career trajectories, including advanced studies in physics and related STEM fields, educational roles across all levels, and private sector positions that prize strong analytical, computational, and problem-solving abilities.
The University of Washington's Physics department provides four specialized B.S. degree tracks to accommodate different academic interests and professional objectives: Comprehensive, Applied Physics, Biological Physics, and Teaching Physics. While students select their preferred track when declaring their Physics major, they retain the flexibility to modify their choice at any point prior to graduation application.
