The Environmental Science bachelor's degree equips students with a robust scientific foundation while addressing tomorrow's ecological challenges. Combining classroom instruction, laboratory work, and field studies, you'll gain practical knowledge in biology, chemistry, geosciences, physics, and mathematics. This curriculum teaches students to integrate these scientific fields to address intricate environmental concerns affecting both local communities and global society. Housed within the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, this program encourages blending environmental studies with perspectives from humanities and social sciences. You'll cultivate essential abilities for scientific inquiry, technical documentation, and funding proposals through structured courses and self-directed learning. The program culminates in a capstone experience where you can collaborate with researchers on original undergraduate projects or complete internships with community organizations. Graduates emerge prepared for careers in government, academia, private sectors, or non-profits, or to pursue advanced studies across multiple scientific fields.
Student must have a High School Qualification.
Due to limited testing availability from COVID-19, the UW will accept the Duolingo’s English Test for autumn 2021 applicants. A minimum score of 105 will be required for admission. The TOEFL iBT special home edition and the IELTS Indicator at home exam will also be accepted for 2021 international freshman applicants.
