The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a Biochemistry specialization (BS) offers students an intensive program centered on atomic and molecular studies. This degree covers core chemistry disciplines (organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical) while emphasizing Biochemistry. Life itself is built from atoms and molecules. At UW Bothell, chemistry students investigate molecular structures to comprehend life, the cosmos, environmental influences, and ways to improve our world. We even enjoy creating liquid nitrogen ice cream. Students will gain proficiency in the scientific method and contemporary molecular theories across key chemistry fields (organic, analytical, physical, inorganic, and biochemical). They'll learn to employ varied techniques for qualitative and quantitative problem-solving in chemistry. Additionally, they'll develop skills to convey scientific concepts clearly through multiple formats (spoken, written, mathematical) using appropriate language for both technical and general audiences.
Student must have a High School Qualification.
Due to limited testing availability from COVID-19, the UW will accept the Duolingo’s English Test for autumn 2021 applicants. A minimum score of 105 will be required for admission.
