The department provides academic programs culminating in either a Bachelor of Arts degree or a minor qualification. Learners initiate their specialization by selecting three foundational courses that outline the discipline and its primary areas of focus, progressing afterward to more advanced, specialized coursework. The department maintains a Writing Center to enhance undergraduate writing skills and a dedicated Political Science Computer Classroom that facilitates digital research and analysis for both students and faculty. Professors offer personalized learning opportunities through research fellowships, independent study projects, and optional senior thesis work. Practical experience is acquired via internships, service-based learning initiatives, and fieldwork to prepare students for post-graduation careers. The political science curriculum examines governmental theories and political systems across local, state, national, and global contexts. Our mission centers on cultivating comprehension of public institutions, political processes, and civic engagement while fostering analytical approaches that strengthen democratic participation.
