Art History explores artistic works and visual culture as tools for understanding and forms of human expression across historical periods, traditions, and modern contexts.
Our Art History faculty examine diverse cultures spanning different regions, time periods, and ethnic backgrounds, while recognizing how visual creations reflect and communicate societal values.
The program aims to cultivate students' understanding of visual culture's social, historical, moral, and artistic importance - both in our current surroundings and as inherited from past civilizations. This foundation enables students to meaningfully engage with visual traditions they now carry forward.
As an academic community, Art History strives to maintain its influential position in shaping and evolving the discipline's vibrant practices on both national and global scales.
