The Master of Teaching program follows a one-year, group-based schedule from June to May annually.
Participants undertake supervised teaching placements with expert mentors and instructional coaches, gaining exposure to multiple school environments to broaden their professional readiness.
This graduate-level program requires applicants to hold a bachelor's degree.
This program isn't designed for those seeking exclusively to teach English abroad. Individuals pursuing ESL certification should explore the M.T. in English as a Second Language instead.

Qualification Requirements

Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores are NOT required as part of the application process. International students must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. Scores must not be more than 2 years old. Applicants who have or will have earned an undergraduate degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction do not need to provide TOEFL or IELTS scores.

Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree prior to matriculation. Applicants are expected to have a minimum GPA of 2.7 with a 3.0 GPA in the major, though applicants not meeting this requirement will be considered. Faculty review applications holistically and will consider academic record, goals, relevant experience, and letters of recommendation.

Applicants should hold a degree in English (or a related field) or a minimum of 30 credits of English coursework. Coursework may be in multiple departments. They must meet or be prepared to meet the following content studies requirements:

Advanced writing
Media studies (e.g., journalism, dramatics, debate, forensics, radio, television, film, and other media production)
Literature coursework in at least three of the following areas: young adult, British, American, non-anglophone world, and ethnic and minority texts

English proficiency requirement :
Paper-based TOEFL: 600
Computer-Based TOEFL: 250
IELTS: 7.0
IBT TOEFL: at least 22 in writing, 22 in speaking, 23 in reading, and 23 in listening for a total score of 90.
