This academic program equips graduates for roles in higher education or research institutions specializing in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology for Individuals with Disabilities, and Sports Medicine. The curriculum combines coursework, research opportunities, clinical training, and hands-on experiences to develop professionals capable of advancing kinesiology through original research.
The Ph.D. program's core objective is to cultivate expert researcher-scholars qualified for diverse positions in public and private academic institutions. Graduates will possess the skills needed for careers as research scientists, clinical practitioners, and university educators.
The Exercise Physiology specialization trains students to perform innovative research in exercise science and physical activity/nutrition interventions, preparing them to share findings as published authors, academic faculty, or government/research organization leaders.
Students work closely with an Exercise Physiology advisor and doctoral committee to create personalized study plans. The program focuses on human exercise physiology, physical activity assessment, nutritional studies, and intervention strategies in both clinical and community settings. Active participation in a robust exercise physiology research environment is required.
