The Political Philosophy, Policy and Law (PPL) major offers undergraduates a chance to deeply explore the relationships between political philosophy and legal theory, examining how legal ideas evolve historically and interact with public policy. This program is rooted in the belief that legal studies form part of a profound humanistic tradition, fostering deep contemplation of core values. Given the vast scope of law, policy, and political philosophy, the major emphasizes combining insights from multiple academic fields. However, meaningful interdisciplinary discussions about legal concepts, processes, doctrines, and policies require participants to first establish solid foundations in their respective disciplines. The PPL major's requirements reflect this fundamental principle.
