The Mental Health specialization expands on the foundational first-year coursework, equipping students with cutting-edge expertise, competencies, and ethical principles for contemporary mental health practice. Learners develop proficiency in conducting comprehensive ecological evaluations (person-in-environment case analyses) and implementing interventions at micro, mezzo, and select macro levels for diverse client groups throughout all life stages. The curriculum emphasizes therapeutic self-awareness, cultural competence, intervention and prevention techniques, blending artistic and scientific methodologies, along with collaborative work in interdisciplinary and community teams. The program examines both pioneering and conventional practice approaches.
