The Occupational Injury Prevention Research Training (OIPRT) program equips students with skills to assess workplace risks, develop safety interventions, and measure their effectiveness. Through the Master of Science in Occupational Health (MSOH) OIPRT track, participants acquire practical expertise for careers in research, insurance, academia, corporate settings, private sectors, and government agencies. Enrolled students collaborate with the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine and the Department of Mechanical Engineering while gaining hands-on experience in Occupational and Environmental Health. The Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health provides three specialized OIPRT training paths, each leading to a graduate degree but differing in curriculum depth and focus areas. These include: 1) MSOH OIPRT with an Occupational Injury Epidemiology concentration, 2) MSOH OIPRT with an Occupational Safety specialization, and 3) MSOH OIPRT with an Ergonomics emphasis.
