The Environmental Humanities Program provides options for either an MA or MS degree, with your choice made during the application process. The key difference between these Master's programs lies in their requirements: the Master of Arts mandates intermediate proficiency in an approved language, whereas the Master of Science necessitates completion of three research methodology courses approved by the EH Graduate Studies Director.
Courses employing established research methods to produce original work fulfill our criteria. These methodology courses appear throughout the Course Catalog. Given our students' diverse interests, we don't maintain a fixed list of qualifying courses. For instance, professionals in arts, history, geosciences, social sciences, environmental education, field ecology, and park management often select markedly different study paths. Furthermore, identical course numbers/titles may focus on different objectives and outcomes across academic years.
