The two-year MM program offers 33 credit hours focused on either instrumental or choral conducting. Curriculum includes one-on-one conducting instruction, research methods, music history and literature, advanced theory, conducting workshops, and large ensemble participation, culminating in a required conducting recital. Beyond individualized coaching, students complete rigorous coursework in ensemble repertoire, concert programming, theoretical studies, historical contexts, performance traditions, specialized techniques (vocal diction or instrumental methods), and teaching methodologies. This customized academic path equips graduates with the comprehensive expertise required for professional conducting careers or collegiate-level teaching positions.
